Our Origin Story
Stephen has a passion for multi generational family business. It has always been his dream for his sons to work along side him and to provide a headstart for all of his kids in their endeavors as young adults.

So when his father in law, Tracy Jacobs, began talking of retirement from the septic business to pursue his dream of building a campground on Elk River, Stephen saw the opportunity to make a big change. Not only would it fulfill his goals, but buying the business would allow him to continue the hard work Tracy has put into the industry over the last 20+ years.
​
In 2023, Stephen left his welding career to learn the septic business, and in April of this year he officially took the reins and rebranded to J&M Septic & Excavation, choosing a name to honor the years of knowledge and experience he is still able to lean on from his father in law.

Stephen Martin
Owner/Installer​
Stephen is the owner of J&M Septic & Excavation. He is registered in the state of Missouri as an advanced installer, qualified to handle both conventional septic systems and specialty systems designed for challenging site conditions.
​
Stephen grew up in Anderson, where he still lives with his wife and their four (soon to be five) children. He enjoys hunting and fishing, but above all, he is devoted to his faith and family.

Jackson Martin
Right Hand Man
Jackson is his dad's right hand man. He's a homeschooled sophomore in high school, with plans to graduate early and pursue entrepreneurship, while continuing in the family business.
Jackson has many hobbies and talents, including taxidermy, primitive bow making, and leather working, just to name a few.
You won't meet a more dependable, hardworking teenager. We're blessed to have him on our team!
